Police have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the shooting death of another man who was killed while riding in a car with three friends.
John Chambers of Santa Ana was arrested Sunday afternoon at his home in the 2100 block of Greenville Street. He is suspected of fatally shooting 21-year-old Marcus Jordan, also of Santa Ana, the same day.
It was not immediately known what the relationship between the two men was or what caused the shooting, Police Lt. Dave Petko said.
Jordan’s friends told police they were driving near Greenville Street when a shot was fired and Jordan slumped forward. He died in the vehicle.
Other witnesses reported seeing a group of people standing in front of Chambers’ house when the shot was fired, Petko said. Police interviewed Chambers after the shooting, but he was not arrested until a second interview, the lieutenant added.
