Michael Schumacher became the first German to win a Formula One race since Jochen Mass in 1975, taking the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.
Schumacher averaged 118.948 m.p.h. in a Benneton-Ford, covering 189.74 miles in 1 hour 36 minutes 10.72 seconds and beating Nigel Mansell by 36.595 seconds.
