SUN VALLEY : Driver Burned in Propane Explosion
A catering truck driver was burned Thursday when a propane tank he was filling at a Sun Valley gas station exploded, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
It took 20 firefighters about 20 minutes to extinguish a blaze that followed the 5:53 p.m. explosion at a Texaco gas station in the 8700 block of North Lankershim Boulevard, spokesman Mike Little said.
The driver, who sustained first- and second-degree burns to his face and hands, refused to be taken to a hospital, Little said. The man’s identity was unknown, Little said.
