LOS ANGELES : School Board OKs Deal With Administrators
- Share via
The school board Thursday adopted an agreement between the Los Angeles Unified School District and its administrators union, rescinding a temporary pay increase promised to employees last year and approving furlough days that will offset potential salary cuts.
Workers represented by the Associated Administrators of Los Angeles will forfeit a 3% salary increase for the months July through September and take up to 29 days off without pay to lessen the impact of cuts proposed to make up a $400-million shortfall in the district’s budget. Eight days are contingent upon the district receiving state permission to reduce the school year’s second semester.
The board approved similar actions on behalf of district employees represented by the superintendent of schools.
