Faria Wins Four-Lap Main at Speedway

COSTA MESA — Mike Faria of Downey won the four-lap scratch main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program in front of 3,146 at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Faria was an easy wire-to-wire winner over Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano, who was second. Scott Brant of Riverside was third and Chris Manchester of Hesperia was fourth.

Charlie Venegas of Costa Mesa won the eight-lap handicap main event. Lance King of Huntington Beach was second and Andy Northrup of Ontario was third.
