A 15-year-old Hyde Park boy was charged Monday with murder and attempted murder in the knife and tomahawk attack that left his stepbrother dead and his pregnant mother on life-support systems.
Christopher Lee Andrews was expected to be arraigned today in connection with the attack that claimed the life of James Williams Jr., 11, and critically injured his mother, Brenda Mae Williams, 37, a district attorney’s spokesman said.
A judge ordered Andrews’ name and photograph released last week to help detectives find him. The teen-ager disappeared after the Aug. 10 attacks, which occurred in his family home in the 5900 block of South 8th Avenue. He was arrested Thursday after a relative saw him in the Firestone Park area.
