Diodes Inc. Profits Down 36% for Quarter

Diodes Inc., a semiconductor maker in Chatsworth, reported a 36% drop in second-quarter profit despite posting record quarterly revenue.

Citing higher selling and administrative expenses along with reduced tax benefits, Diodes said it earned $105,213 in the three months ended June 30, compared with $164,512 a year ago.

Diodes’ revenue, however, jumped 28% to a record $4.6 million from $3.6 million a year earlier. Thomas Hurley, chairman and chief executive, said the company also continues to expand its market share.

For the six months ended June 30, the company earned $224,295, down 6% from $238,081 a year ago. Revenue during the period was up 21%, to $8.67 million from $7.14 million.
