A 42-year-old Simi Valley man was killed over the weekend when his automobile spun out of control and crashed into a large tree on Somis Road south of West Street in Somis, authorities said.
Terry Richard Price was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the accident occurred at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Price was driving south at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a 30-m.p.h. curve and slammed into the guardrail, according to the CHP statement. He swerved into the northbound lane and lost control of the car, crashing into a tree.
“Alcohol may have been a factor in this accident,” the CHP said.
The CHP also reported that a pedestrian was killed over the weekend in a separate traffic accident. No details were available Sunday evening.
