7 Candidates Seek Seats on Water Board

Santa Clarita Valley residents will pick from seven candidates for four seats on the 11-member Castaic Lake Water Agency Board in the Nov. 3 election.
The deadline for filing papers for the four-year terms with the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s office was Friday.
Two-term incumbent Jerry Gladbach and Lynne Blanbeck filed papers to run for a seat that represents Newhall and Valencia.
Donald Froelich, who was appointed to the board in January, will run for one of two open seats representing Castaic and Saugus. James Gates and Laura Lynn will vie for the other seat.
Jack Ancona and Bill Cooper will face each other for a seat that represents Canyon Country and Sand Canyon. The incumbent, Bill Thompson, did not file for reelection.
