Teacher Honored for Agriculture Efforts

Steve Slakey, a social studies teacher at La Puente High School, has been selected second-place winner in the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom Teaching Awards Program. Slakey received $200 for his efforts to integrate agriculture into the classroom curriculum and help increase agriculture literacy among teachers and students.
