WEEKEND TV : Gather ‘Round, Olympic Fans, for Second Week

With the Olympic Summer Games entering their second week, sporting events will highlight this weekend’s viewing.
The new Saturday edition of “Today” debuts at 7 a.m. on NBC (4)(36)(39) with the latest from Barcelona, including a look at the South African team and an interview with American long jumper Carl Lewis.
Today’s Olympic coverage on NBC begins at noon and continues at 7:30 p.m., with track and field, diving, tennis, basketball, water polo, rowing, weightlifting, gymnastics, canoeing and volleyball scheduled. Sunday’s coverage--which starts at 8 a.m.--will include diving, canoeing, water polo, track and field, tennis, rowing, basketball, gymnastics, cycling and weightlifting.
ABC will air the AFC/NFC Hall of Fame football game today at noon between the New York Jets and the Philadelphia Eagles on (7)(3)(10)(42).
On Sunday, Tom Seaver, Rollie Fingers and Hal Newhouser will be inducted into baseball’s Hall of Fame and ESPN will air the ceremonies at 3 p.m.
Top NFL performances, as well as a profile of Chuck Knox, will be featured on “Opportunity Knox,” who is returning to the Rams as head coach, 4 p.m. (2).
