The city is adding two preferential parking zones for residents.
The City Council on Tuesday voted to approve the two zones, which will go into effect in mid-September.
Zone Y is on 19th Street between Santa Monica Boulevard and Broadway, where parking will be prohibited from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, except by permit.
The second area is Zone Z, on Cedar Street between Lincoln Boulevard and 10th Street. Parking in Zone Z will be prohibited from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except by permit.
Residents who want to park on the street may purchase permits for $15 a year.
