Settlement Reported: A $6-million lawsuit against Robin Williams, which accused him of giving herpes to a former lover, has been settled, a legal newspaper reported Wednesday. The San Francisco Daily Journal said a confidential settlement was filed in San Francisco Superior Court on Tuesday, a week before the case was to go to trial. Michelle Tish Carter, a former waitress at the Improv comedy club in Los Angeles, alleged that Williams gave her herpes before disclosing he had the disease. Williams, 41, claimed in a cross-complaint against Carter that the lawsuit was a ruse to extort money from him. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
