Pomona : Body Found in Burning Car
Police are investigating a possible homicide after the charred body of a man with a gunshot wound in the neck was discovered in a burning car late Tuesday night.
The body was found after a jogger at Pomona High School called firefighters at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday to extinguish flames engulfing the car, parked next to the school gymnasium.
A rifle was found next to the body, which was in the passenger seat, Pomona police said.
The dark blue Nissan, bearing military license plates, was not registered in California, police said. Military officials are being contacted to help identify the victim.
Police said they have no suspect or motive.
