Spruce Goose
The news of the impending removal of the Spruce Goose to Oregon is sad. If the Disney Co. thinks that “the venerable ship and the legendary plane are too costly to operate” (July 10), how can the Spruce Goose be financially viable in Oregon, which has only a minute fraction of the tourists who come to our area?
I hope the owners lease the Spruce Goose rather than sell it and eventually bring it back to where it belongs--where it was built and where the tourists are.
I recently wrote to some officials and suggested that a self-propelled aerial tramway be constructed from Disneyland to Long Beach Harbor. This would be an exciting attraction in itself, aside from bringing tourists to the harbor.
