Hanley M. Norins, 74, an advertising executive credited with several jingles, among them “A little dab’ll do ya” for a Brylcreem hair dressing ad. A Harvard graduate, Norins spent most of his career with Young & Rubicam as a writer, creative director and vice president. His books include “The Compleat Copywriter” and “The Young & Rubicam Traveling Creative Workshop.” In the 1960s, when a presidential commission was considering the future of Alcatraz Island, Norins proposed converting the San Francisco Bay prison into a cultural center for the arts. In Little River, Calif., on July 1 of cancer.
