LTV Reaches Tentative Labor Pact: The United Steelworkers of America and LTV Corp. said they had reached tentative agreement on a new labor contract for LTV’s steel operations. The agreement apparently eliminates the threat of a strike and, if approved, would clear the way for LTV to emerge from its six years in bankruptcy. The pact is subject to bankruptcy court approval and ratification by union members.
