Suit Filed Against Northwest Airlines: Northwest Airlines has been charged with illegally discriminating against women rejected for flight attendant jobs because they were too short. A 5-foot, 2-inch minimum height requirement for flight attendants excluded women, Latinos and Asians at a much higher rate than white males, according to a class-action lawsuit filed in Minnesota. Northwest lowered the height requirement to 5 feet a year ago based on the recommendations of an airline industry study.
