Barbara Camp Named Acting Athletic Director at UCI

IRVINE — Barbara Camp, UC Irvine’s assistant athletic director, will become acting athletic director on Aug. 1, the university announced Wednesday.
She will succeed Tom Ford, who announced his resignation Monday. Ford is leaving to become assistant executive director of the National Assn. of Basketball Coaches.
Camp, in her second year at UC Irvine, is responsible for athletic rules compliance. She came to Irvine from Southern Methodist University, where she worked in various roles, including tennis coach and athletic administrator, for 21 years. She also was associate athletic director for administration (1982-87) and associate athletic director for intercollegiate programs (1987-90).
