CSUN Signs Recruit for Softball Team
Shannon Jones of Carmichael, Calif., signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play softball for Cal State Northridge, according to Coach Gary Torgeson.
Jones, a 5-foot-10 third baseman, is a transfer from Louisiana Tech, where she played two seasons. A graduate of Mira Loma High in Sacramento, Jones was an all-city selection in softball and basketball her junior and senior years.
Jones batted a combined .194 in her two seasons at Louisiana Tech.
Jones is the sixth recruit signed by Torgeson for the coming season. Others include Scia Maumausolo (Carmel High), Dawn Richardson (Etiwanda), Victoria Rios (Sacramento City College), Shelby Wilcox (Clovis West) and Amy Windmiller (Sacramento CC).
