Huntington Park : Police Chief to Become Head of Chino Department
Police Chief Patrick M. Connolly plans to leave Huntington Park in August to become chief of the Chino Police Department.
Connolly, 53, who has headed the local department for five years, called the change a “good opportunity and a great offer.” The Chino Police Department has 127 employees, almost double the size of the Huntington Park force.
During his tenure, Connolly occasionally disagreed with city officials about enforcement of the law at the city’s card club, but the chief said those differences played no part in his decision to leave.
“They have been very supportive of me and the department over the years, “ Connolly said. “I had to do a lot of soul searching before I decided to leave.”
Capt. Frank Sullivan will become acting chief.
