BREA : Trash Fee, Budget Hearings Delayed
Public hearings scheduled for today on proposed increases in garbage collection fees and the new city budget have been postponed.
The council decided to hold the hearings at a later date because of the continuing impasse in Sacramento over balancing the state’s 1992-93 budget, which has left Brea without firm plans for its own budget.
Councilman Wayne Wedin said he would prefer to receive public input when the city knows how much money it will receive from the state and can make budget plans accordingly.
The hearings have been rescheduled for July 21.
