SAN DIEGO : Fire Causes $100,000 in Damage to House
Aerosol fumes ignited by an oven pilot light were blamed Monday for a San Diego house fire that left six people homeless, authorities said.
No one was injured in the fire that started in a kitchen at 2498 Island Ave. about 7:45 p.m. Sunday, Fire Department officials said.
The fire quickly spread to the second story of the single-family home. It was extinguished by about 8 p.m.
The Red Cross helped the unidentified family find a place to stay for the night. Damage was estimated at $100,000.
