South Pasadena : Fines for Loud Parties
Loud parties that cause second visits from police officers could result in fines.
Under a measure given final approval by the City Council last week, hosts of such parties will be warned on the first visit by police that a return visit will draw a fine.
Police say the minimum penalty will probably be about $50.
If the police are called back, the hosts will be required to compensate the city for the cost of the officers’ time and any administrative costs.
Police Chief Thomas Mahoney had asked for the measure after recent loud parties requiring repeat visits from police.
The ordinance takes effect in 30 days.
