Regarding “How Much Israeli Give?” (editorial, June 26): This whole Mideast peace situation depends upon the same basic issue it always has--Israel’s security.
The old argument of “land for peace” has been tried and failed. Israel surrendered the whole Sinai Peninsula to her enemies, including its oil, settlements and billions of dollars of improvements. Yet Israel still isn’t safe from extinction by fanatical neighbors.
How can the surrendering of additional Israeli-controlled land result in more security?
The next move is up to the Arabs. Let a reasonable and viable plan be offered guaranteeing Israel peace and her right to exist, as all other nations have, then the peace process can truly begin.
