COLWOOD, Canada — A man whose wife disappeared last month discovered her severed head while cleaning a ditch outside his home, authorities said.
Shannon Guyatt, 34, a computer systems analyst with the British Columbia Ministry of Highways, failed to return home from work June 17 and was reported missing the next day, authorities said.
Her husband, Doug, was cleaning trash from a drainage ditch and culvert Sunday when he discovered the skull.
“He was just picking garbage up out of the ditches, then he freaked out, pointing in the culvert,” said a neighbor who spoke on condition of anonymity. “Then he stood there screaming, hyperventilating.”
No other remains were found.
