AST Eliminates Position: A day after its chief operating officer resigned, Irvine-based AST Research Inc. eliminated the position of one of its vice presidents of sales.
Spokeswoman Deborah Paquin said Tuesday that Richard Hindman, vice president of sales, was no longer with the company. She said his job was eliminated as part of a continuing consolidation.
On Monday, Thomas C. K. Yuen resigned as co-chairman and chief operating officer of the computer maker after an apparent dispute with the company’s board of directors. Yuen, a co-founder of AST, will remain a director.
Paquin said Hindman’s dismissal was unrelated to Yuen’s departure. Through his wife, Yuen declined to comment. Safi Qureshey, chief executive of AST and the last remaining co-founder, also would not comment.
