CostCare Moves South: It’s moving day for the folks at CostCare Inc., a health care management company currently headquartered in Huntington Beach.
Starting today, the 9-year-old company is abandoning its cramped digs near the Huntington Center mall and moving south to upscale Fashion Island in Newport Beach, where it will take up three floors in the Wells Fargo building.
It seems business has been good and getting better since the firm was acquired by John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co. two years ago.
“We’ve just been expanding exponentially,” said David Brisbin, CostCare’s director of communications.
The suites will give the 130-person company room to grow well into 1994, Brisbin said. The company has signed up more than 7,000 corporate clients nationwide and is the fourth largest provider of health care cost-management programs, covering more than 5 million employees.
Brisbin and his colleagues will get an early weekend, taking off at noon today so the movers can transfer the office equipment.
But there is a downside.
‘We have to come back on Sunday,” he said, so the phones, the computers and the typewriters will all be plugged in and ready for “business as usual” first thing Monday morning.
