After the Riots : NEWS IN BRIEF : Bush Names Overseer for Rebuilding

President Bush designated a White House official as the executive director of a presidential task force overseeing federal efforts to rebuild riot-ravaged Los Angeles.
David J. Beightol, a special assistant to the President for intergovernmental affairs, will be based in Los Angeles, joining the Justice Department’s office of community relations service.
The task force was set up May 4 in the aftermath of the Los Angeles riots. It is headed by David Kearns, deputy secretary of the Department of Education, and Alfred DelliBovi, deputy secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
