Officials from the nation’s two predominantly black NCAA Division I conferences are questioning the computer selection process for the 48-team national baseball championship tournament, which begins Thursday.
The Southwestern Athletic Conference and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference are among seven leagues without automatic bids. Southern University of Houston was overlooked by the NCAA selection committee for the second consecutive year, despite winning the SWAC title with a 31-12 record.
