Russian Sailor Denies Slaying Aboard Trawler

ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland — A Russian sailor pleaded not guilty Friday to murdering an officer on board his fishing trawler while in Canadian waters.
Victor Kharsekin, 40, is charged with second-degree murder of engineer Ivan Pedura off Newfoundland last May.
