In Century League softball:
Villa Park 2, El Modena 1 (20)--Jamie Hunter’s single scored Kristen Maida with the winning run for host Villa Park (12-8, 4-3).
In the Garden Grove League:
Pacifica 8, Santiago 0--Jennifer Surface had 12 strikeouts in five inning for host Pacifica (16-5-1, 9-2). Surface has an Orange-County best 211 strikeouts this season.
In Freeway League softball:
La Habra 7, Fullerton 0--Danielle Ortega threw a two-hitter, striking out 13, for host La Habra (19-2, 7-0), the second-ranked team in the county.
In Arrowhead League baseball:
Southern California Christian 11, Sherman Indian 0 (5, mercy rule)--Senior Greg Mattox (1-1) pitched a no-hitter, struck out seven and walked four for Southern California Christian in a game at Schaffer Park in Orange. Dennis Amundson had a home run and brothers Mike and Matt Caballero had triples for Southern California Christian.
In Pacific Coast League baseball:
Laguna Beach 12, Century 10 (12)--Ian McDonald hit a game-winning, three-run home run for host Laguna Beach (7-13, 6-6) with two outs in the 12th inning. After Laguna Beach scored one run in the bottom of the seventh to tie it, 8-8, Century took a 10-8 lead with two runs in the top of the 12th.
In Olympic League baseball:
Orange Lutheran 7, Ontario Christian 0--Matt Hendren went two for four with three RBIs and J.P. Presley hit a three run homer in the first for Orange Lutheran (16-4, 8-2).
In Sunset League baseball:
Huntington Beach 5, Santa Ana 0--Howie Clark was two for two with an RBI for Huntington Beach (20-3, 9-1), which clinched at least a tie for the league title. The Oilers could win the title outright with a victory over Fountain Valley Saturday.
Westminster 1, Edison 0 (14)--Jason Fabisiak scored on a wild pitch to win the game for Westminster (12-12, 5-5).
