COSTA MESA : Anti-Gang Group Dinner Is Tonight
A group of concerned parents who have banded together to help keep youths out of gangs will hold a community meeting tonight at 7 at the Downtown Community Center.
Formed in April, the fledgling committee is seeking ideas and support on ways to prevent gangs from coming into the city and gaining local recruits.
Speaking before the City Council this week, founding member Becky Garcia told of her frustrations and worries about the safety of her own children. “I am a concerned parent,” she said. “Maybe we can reach out to the youth.”
It is the third meeting held by the parents, who are targeting children living in the western section of the city.
The Downtown Community Center is at 1860 Anaheim Ave.
