Congressional Check Scandal

In “Scandal Fans Voter Anger to Fever Pitch” (April 17), you credited Rep. Thomas E. Coleman (R-Mo.) with the best reason for not using the House bank: “I didn’t think it was a good idea to put my checking account in a bank run by politicians.” This is a great line, worthy of the immortal Groucho. Then, by extension, I wonder how he feels about entrusting the well-being of the nation to the same politicians. I can’t see the logic in so doing.
