There may not be anything new in the report but it will undoubtedly help focus major issues. Hopefully, all these efforts will lead, for example, to a functional workers’ compensation insurance reform.
A continuing dialogue of the commission with various professional and trade associations will be absolutely essential, and will reveal, for instance, that the state of California is contracting out of state certain segments of state employee health benefit packages, thus rendering an inadvertent helping hand to other states’ economies, resulting in further loss of funds and jobs from California.
