Lunker Bass at Silverwood May Be Mark

Trout plants and a heat wave have stirred the striped bass into a near frenzy at Silverwood Lake.
San Diego’s Dennis Erwin was trolling an Augie lure Saturday when he landed a big striper. Erwin reportedly drove 16 miles to the Joshua Inn, where his fish weighed 42 pounds 4 ounces on a certified scale. Until Erwin’s catch becomes official, Greg Silks remains the record-holder with a 41-pound 3-ounce striper.
