VISTA : Vista Water Rates to Increase in June
- Share via
Water bills in Vista will increase about 20% after June 1 under a rate adjustment approved by the Vista Irrigation District.
The average customer, now paying $31 a month for water, can expect to pay $38 under the new rates, a district spokeswoman said.
The increase is needed, officials said, to rebuild and refurbish reservoirs, to fund a new conservation department and safety manager, and to offset higher costs for water purchased from state suppliers.
The rate change is the fourth in less than two years. Rates went up in September, 1990, and April, 1991, then dropped in June, 1991.
