L.A. FIESTA BROADWAY : Martinez Heads KMEX

As general manager of KMEX-TV, Michael G. Martinez heads the nation’s largest Spanish-language television station, with a staff of 145.
Martinez became general manager in July, 1991, after less than a year as the station’s general sales manager. He joined Channel 34 in 1987 as a local sales manager.
KMEX, an affiliate of Univision, is the organizer and producer of L.A. Fiesta Broadway.
A Garfield High School graduate, Martinez went on to East Los Angeles College and received a degree in psychology from USC in 1977.
In addition to his work, Martinez is active in organizations such as Chicano Broadcasting Students of Cal State L.A., Hollenbeck Youth Center and Catholic Big Brothers.
