MOORPARK : City to Give Excess Paint to Residents
Moorpark residents who plan to do spring painting will be able to pick up free five-gallon buckets of beige paint at the Moorpark Community Center on Saturday.
The Public Works Department has an oversupply of the paint that it uses to cover graffiti on stone and concrete walls throughout the city, said Baldemar Troche, public works management analyst.
The department will give away up to 170 buckets of the water-based exterior paint, but residents are limited to one bucket per Moorpark household.
Residents who prefer a color other than beige could have the paint mixed at a paint or hardware store, Troche said.
The paint giveaway will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call Troche at City Hall, 529-6864.
