Furon Sells Division in Restructuring
LAGUNA NIGUEL — Furon Co., which makes polymer products for manufacturers, said Monday that it has sold its filtration products division in Houston to Filtration Products Ltd. as part of a restructuring announced earlier this year.
The Laguna Niguel company did not disclose terms of the sale. It posted a $22.3-million loss on sales of $306 million for its 1992 fiscal year ended Feb. 1, 1992.
Furon said this is the second of six divisions it plans to sell in an effort to focus on its materials technology operations, which makes light polymer parts for heavy industry. In January, it sold Reynolds & Taylor Inc. of Santa Ana to Rheinhold Industries Inc., a Santa Fe Springs subsidiary of Keene Corp. in New York.
