Biopool Gets Approval for Kit Sales in Mexico

Biopool International Inc. of Ventura received approval from Mexico’s Ministry of Health for the sale in that country of Biopool’s blood diagnostic test kits.
Dr. Michael Bick, Biopool’s chief executive officer, declined to estimate how much the approval will add to his company’s sales, but said, “We certainly think Mexico will become a major market for us.”
Biopool manufactures about 30 diagnostic kits used by hospitals and labs worldwide to test for blood and heart disorders. The kits to be sold in Mexico are produced by a newly acquired subsidiary, Medical Diagnostic Technologies Inc., also based in Ventura.
