Beilenson’s Not So Bad
In response to “Beilenson Tells Constituents of 5 Bad Checks” (Times Valley Edition, March 29), does this story deserve front page headline status?
Haven’t I read in these pages over the years that Beilenson is the only member of California’s congressional delegation, both House and Senate, who never takes money from the special interests represented by the political action committees? The only incumbent who raises and spends less money than his challenger? One of the few who votes for what is best for his constituents, and the country, rather than blindly following the party line?
So with the Valley lucky enough to have a congressman like that, why make such a fuss over a few “bad” checks, most of which were bad only because the bank posted his deposit four days late?
