SIMI VALLEY : Pesticide Fumes Force Evacuation
- Share via
About 200 employees were evacuated from a Simi Valley electronics firm Friday after an employee attempting to kill spiders sprayed an outdoor pesticide inside the building and made several employees nauseous, authorities said.
The sick workers felt better after they went outside and no one was sent to the hospital, said Dennis Miller, dispatcher with the Ventura County Fire Department.
Employees at Datron Systems Inc., 200 W. Los Angeles Ave., first noticed the pesticide smell about 1:45 p.m., Miller said.
