LAGUNA BEACH — Mike Barron, former football coach at four schools, has been named coach at Laguna Beach High School, Principal Barbara Callard said Wednesday.
Barron’s hiring was approved by the Laguna Beach school board Tuesday night. He replaces Lyman Olney, who resigned after leading the Artists to a 2-8 record last season.
Barron teaches physical education at Santiago and is the offensive line coach at Rancho Santiago College. He was head coach at Santiago (1987-90), Buena Park (1986-87), Rancho Alamitos (1979-83) and Duarte (1974-79).
Barron will teach physical education and weight training classes at Laguna Beach.
