John Halagan to Succeed Shannon as Basketball Coach at Woodbridge
IRVINE — John Halagan, an assistant basketball coach at Woodbridge High School, was named Wednesday the school’s new head coach. He replaces Bill Shannon, who resigned for personal reasons.
Halagan has been a science teacher at Woodbridge the past nine years and was Shannon’s top assistant the past six seasons.
Woodbridge was 18-17 last season, finishing second to Tustin in the Sea View League. The Warriors advanced to the quarterfinals of the Southern Section Division II-AA playoffs before losing to Oxnard Rio Mesa.
