VENTURA : Woman Dies After Being Hit by Car
A 45-year-old Ventura woman died after she was hit by a car while walking in a crosswalk in Ventura on Saturday, police said.
Rhonda Towe was declared dead at 4:05 p.m. at Ventura County Medical Center, about two hours after the accident, a nursing supervisor said. Her husband, Bobby Towe, 41, was also struck and was listed in serious condition Saturday evening.
The Towes were in a marked crosswalk on Telegraph Road at Emma Avenue. Police say Francisco Navarro, 18, of Ventura drove between two vehicles, sideswiping both of them, then hit the couple.
