The Huntington Beach High School volleyball teams have put up some pretty outrageous numbers the past three seasons.
The program’s combined record (freshman-sophomore, junior varsity and varsity) is 121-11 in three years.
The Oiler varsity is 8-1 and ranked seventh in Orange County this season, and has won two of the last three Sunset League titles. The freshman team had a 34-match winning streak stopped by Newport Harbor last month.
The Oilers boast one other outstanding statistic--their varsity players have a combined grade point average of 3.63, according to assistant coach Jason Bilbruck.
Leading the Oilers in the classroom are junior setter Chris Jones (4.4 on a 4.0 scale) and junior outside hitter Steve Tsoneff (4.48)
