Los Alamitos Ousts Defending 2-A Champion
Pat Lee scored on a header with four minutes remaining to give Los Alamitos a 1-0 upset of Bell Gardens, the defending Southern Section Division 2-A boys’ soccer champion, in a section quarterfinal Friday at Bell Gardens. Dave Shiroma assisted on the goal.
Los Alamitos improved to 15-5-5 and advanced to Tuesday’s semifinal against Santa Maria, a 1-0 winner over Laguna Hills Friday.
Bell Gardens finished 24-2-1.
