Filmforum Will Screen Gay Films at LACE
Gay films will be featured in two upcoming Filmforum programs at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, 1804 Industrial Street.
In connection with LACE’s weekend “Spew 2” fanzine convention, Filmforum will present a 2 p.m. Sunday program, “Seedy Celluloid From the Zine Scene.” Filmforum’s regular Monday 8 p.m. program at LACE will be “Highlights From the 5th New York Lesbian and Gay Experimental Film Festival,” which will include a short by Gus Van Sant, “Thanksgiving Prayer by William Burroughs.” Information: (213) 663-9568.
“The Dreaded Experimental Comedies by John Topping,” a series of short videos by the gay writer-producer-director-actor, will premiere next Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at EZTV, 8547 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood.
There will be an additional screening March 8, at Plummer Park, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood, in conjunction with Youth Visibility Week, for which Topping will also be conducting a 1 p.m. workshop. “Creativity for People Who (Think They) Aren’t Creative.”
