LAGUNA NIGUEL : Mayor Sets Times to Meet Residents
Residents will now find it easier to chat with Mayor Thomas W. Wilson, who recently decided to set aside regular office hours three days a week for that purpose.
“I felt it was important to make myself available to the constituents,” Wilson said Monday. “If they want to talk to the mayor, there should be a time or place for them to do that other than the post office or supermarket.”
The city’s first mayor, Councilwoman Patricia C. Bates, did not have set visiting hours but worked regularly at City Hall up to 60 hours a week.
Because his job as a program manager for Rockwell International Corp. keeps him from spending as much time at City Hall, Wilson said, he decided last month to establish specific meeting times.
Wilson is available by appointment from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
